The agency Agostini was established in 1887 by Mr. Giacinto Agostini, with the aim of offering insurance consulting, specifically in the marine and harbour sectors. First and unique of its kind, from its foundation the agency represents the most important national and international insurance companies in the North-east of Italy.

From the 1930's, under the management of Mr. Arturo Agostini – the founder’s son – the agency enlarged its activities to commodities sector. So it quickly became one of the most important and qualified claims agencies in Italy guaranteeing assistance and support on cargo, naval and legal aspects.

After World War II, the movement of goods faced inevitable diversification both in air and inland transportation, followed by the diffusion of containers in the 1970s. Unwavering in its vocation, the agency has been able to make use of its own contacts and knowledge to strengthen the services which are still available today.

From 2003 the agency is led by Andrea Agostini – the founder’s great grandchild – straightening the relationship between the family and this activity. From those years, the agency has expanded and consolidated also the Break-Bulk cargo inspection; i.e. the analysis and attendance during the loading and lashing of over-sized and/or over-weighted items on board vessels.
